The AV solution delivered

Permal Investments embarked on the relocation of their UK head office to a prestigious location in Central London. As part of this transition, they sought a sophisticated, high-impact audio visual (AV) and video conferencing solution that would reflect their corporate identity and support seamless communication.

A key objective for the reception area was to make a powerful first impression. To achieve this, two LCD screens were elegantly recessed into a bespoke leather wall.

  • The first screen streamed live financial data via the Bloomberg channel, offering guests and staff real-time market insights.
  • The second screen delivered dynamic digital signage, showcasing Permal’s corporate messaging through a split-screen interface:
    • One zone played a continuous corporate promotional video.
    • A ticker along the bottom displayed building and facility information.
    • Another section featured personalised welcome messages for visitors, fully customisable by the receptionist via a user-friendly interface.

A state-of-the-art media wall was installed in both primary client meeting rooms, tailored to meet different space requirements.

  • In the smaller room, a 65” HD plasma display was seamlessly integrated into a leather wall, accompanied by a dedicated shelf for the video conferencing camera.
    • Microphones were embedded within the conference table to support crystal-clear audio and video communication.
    • AV equipment racks were strategically placed at high level within the media wall and mounted on runners for easy maintenance access.
  • The larger room featured enhanced capacity and functionality:
    • A 71” HD LCD screen—the first of its kind installed in the UK—was the centrepiece.
    • Additional microphones accommodated the larger seating arrangement.
    • Both rooms were equipped with 8.5” wireless control panels, allowing intuitive control over AV systems, lighting, blinds, and air conditioning.

 

Each internal meeting room featured a 52” wall-mounted LCD screen with an HD video conferencing camera placed below on a custom shelf.

  • All AV components were neatly housed within a credenza-based rack system.
  • The systems were managed using wireless touchscreens that mirrored the interface used in the client-facing rooms, ensuring consistent user experience across the facility.

To unify the AV infrastructure, multiple LCD screens were strategically installed throughout the building, including:

  • Open-plan office spaces
  • IT departments
  • Gym and wellness areas
  • Staff canteen

All AV signals were centrally distributed from the IT communications room, enabling flexible content delivery across the facility. This approach significantly reduced satellite TV subscription costs while maintaining comprehensive media access across different zones.

The AV solution delivered for Permal Investments successfully combined cutting-edge technology with elegant design, enhancing both the functionality and aesthetic appeal of the new head office. The result was a fully integrated, user-friendly system that supported corporate communications, improved visitor experience, and reflected the brand’s premium positioning.
